The Haven is a ‘Large Membership’ Community Interest Company (CIC). Clients, staff, other stakeholders and members of the public are encouraged to become members of the Haven. Members are entitled to vote on company matters at annual general (and other public) meetings and to be consulted on any major changes proposed by the board. Further details about the operation of the Haven as a CIC are included in our Memorandum and Articles of Association. The Haven Board of Directors comprises a minimum of fifty percent membership for people or carers of people who have used Mental Health services. The purpose of the Board of Directors is to ensure the company is operating within its statutory obligations, to ensure it is effectively managed and to make, or ratify, executive decisions. The Board works in concert with the Haven Community Advisory Group. The Advisory Group is made up of Haven clients and has a Chair and Deputy Chair who are elected annually from the client group and by them. The purpose of The Advisory Group is to guide overall development of the project by feeding back clients’ views, ideas and wishes, and to administer The Haven Acceptable Behaviour Policy. |
