Mayor and Mayoress at the Launch of Book on Mental Health
A new book on mental health has been launched at a Colchester treatmeent centre.
Ten authors contributed to Modern Mental Health - Critical Perspectives on Psychiatric Practice, looking at fresh way to provide mental healthcare. The book was launched at The Haven Project, in Lexden, with authors, service users and the Mayor of Colchester joining the celebrations.

Head shave helps unit
Staff and clients at a project for north Essex residents with personality disorders raised funds with a fete. Alongside the usual stalls, cream teas, art work sale and raffle, staff and clients at the Haven Project took part in a sponsored head shave which raised more than £1,000.

A project which helps north Essex residents with personality disorders to get qualifications and find work has been saved. At the project's annual general meeting, chief executive Heather Castillo announced nearly a year of fundraising has smashed the £60,000 target.
